Chanel Develops Durable, Low-Cost Perfume For Third World



"Smelling positively bewitching should be the right of everyone, not

just a privileged few," said Chanel CEO Maureen Chiquet at the gala

launch for the new scent, Chanel 3rd, in Paris' Centre Georges Pompidou

Monday. "It is our hope and belief that this new fragrance will bring

much-needed panache to the Third World."

If you think the idea is outrageous, then you would be surprised to know that one of C K Prahalad's case-studies in his book was Unilever selling face-creams in India. Hey, when they can do face creams, then why not perfumes?

why only perfume and face cream... :( how abt those promised cheap laptops.. latest cell phones..galore at half the price for the malnourished ppl of timbuktu...how could u even imagine living without a laptop :D
